Community Member’s Advisory Group
The Community Member’s Advisory Group represents consumers’ views, ideas, suggestions, concerns and wisdom as it relates to service delivery, review and development of policy & procedure, consumer participation, advocacy and consumer rights across The Salvation Army Crisis Network program delivery.
What does the CMAG do?
Community member’s Advisory Group provides input and expert advice on many aspects of the work at Crisis Services Network including:
- Representing Crisis Services Network at events and conferences
- Assisting Crisis Services Network with various events and projects
- Providing feedback, advice and consultation to improve quality of service provision
CMAG use their personal and lived experiences to influence social change through leadership, consultation and advocacy. Are you interested in joining the Community Member’s Advisory Group? We provide training, support and remuneration for your time.

Red Shield Appeal
The Red Shield Appeal is The Salvation Army’s signature fundraising drive which helps fund our vast network of social and community services.
The Red Shield Appeal began in 1965 and is promoted under our most recognisable symbol – the red shield. Each year, The Salvation Army appeals to the Australian community for donations to ensure we can give hope where it is needed most through our social welfare and community service programs.
Vulnerable Australians rely on these programs every day. Our services range from providing shelter for the homeless, assisting families in crisis through practical support and financial counselling, to guiding people with addictions through to a clean, healthy lifestyle.
The appeal kicks off with official launch events around the country where corporate and community leaders are invited to be our partners in mission.
There are many ways you raise funds; host a morning tea in your workplace, fundraise for a celebration or donate in lieu of a gift. We appreciate all fund raising efforts big or small!
